Ashtrom Contracting through its subsidiary Ashtrom Engineering and Construction announces with pride the end of construction of the courthouse of the District Court in Lod, Israel. Alongside the rigorous safety measures, the courthouse's construction was conducted at a high professional level throughout the phases of the project. This was true also upon its completion, with the smooth transfer of the building management to Ashtrom Contracting.

Project Description
The project, which encompasses 10,810 sq.m., consists of a 4-story building with underground parking. The building is built along the street line with a length of 110 meters.
The ground floor contains the public reception area, administration, cafeteria, detention rooms and main lobby. The three upper floors are designated into three areas: judge chambers, courtrooms and public hallways. The criminal courtrooms have three entrances – for judges, for detainees who sit behind a glass window, and for the public. The civil courtrooms have only two entrances.
It is difficult to miss the courthouse with its northeastern corner cut into a sharp triangle. The entrance to the building is at the intersection of five streets – Sderot Yerushalayim ("Jerusalem Boulevard"), HaNassi ("The President"), HaMelekh David ("King David"), Sderot HaZionut ("Zionism Boulevard") and Henrietta Sold.
How the building was designed and built – in brief
Ashtrom Group took on the construction of the Lod Courthouse as a large-scale project under a Private Financing Initiative (P.P.P) contract, which included partial funding on the part of Ashtrom, design, construction and maintenance of the project for 20 years.
Like a similar project for the Magistrate's Court in Petah Tikva, the construction of the Lod District Court won the State authorities' appreciation and recognition. They stated that Ashtrom Contracting, which won the project in a tender, worked professionally and with dedication, not sparing all the resources required in both the design phase and the construction phase.
