Project Information
The construction of the sewage treatment facility – for removal of pollutants from sewage – was ordered for the service of the area of Kingston, the capital city of Jamaica. The facility, into which the sewage is drained, has the capacity of treating 75 thousand cubic meters of sewage per day. The sewage treatment at this facility is carried out through a biological process. The treated water is used for local agricultural cultivation and some of it can be directed into natural streams.
The project included earthworks for the construction of ponds with a volume of 1.35 million cubic meters and transmission pipelines from two pumping stations, at a distance of about 4-5 km from the facility.
