Project Information
The project consists of the construction of two bridges with 4 openings of 40 meters, 45 meters, 45 meters, and 30 meters (measured perpendicular to the axes) in a total length of 160 meters. The main bridge opening, 45 meters in length, passes over the Hadera Stream. The solar spacing between the two bridges varies between 5 meters and 8 meters.
The project’s purpose is to expand the existing Road 2 route in the segment between Olga Interchange (not included) and Caesarea Interchange (not included) to three lanes, with additional or auxiliary lanes in various points along this route. As part of the project, new road bridges and pedestrian bridges will be planned and constructed above Hadera Stream.
Bridge construction process
The arc bridge over the Hadera Stream will be made of a galvanized steel construction combined with concrete (reinforced concrete columns, steel bridge construction with concrete pavement), and will have two openings (20 meters and 37 meters). Planning will ensure execution without streamside work (assembly and lifting), and the contractor will also design a painting system to protect against corrosion for 25 years.
Construction work on the bridges passing over the stream is coordinated with the Israel Nature and Parks Authority and with the local drainage authority.
