Ashtrom International, through Ashtrom BV, is proud to report about the project of building the Bata Hospital in Equatorial Guinea. The construction of the hospital was carried out with extra care, while observing professional and medical standards and employing innovative methods.
Project Information
Bata Hospital is a modern medical center of 127 beds, clinics, in-patient tower, main kitchen, technical areas, housing for a staff of about 80 medical personnel, recuperation building, pharmacy, independent electricity supply through generators, water purification system, computer systems, logistics areas and hostel.
The hospital's departments are emergency care and trauma, mammography, X-ray, ultrasound and radiology with a digital link to selected medical centers. In addition, the medical center operates units for dialysis, gastroenterology, cardiology, echography laboratories, dental clinic, diabetes clinic, eye clinic, gynecology, neonatal, orthopedics, operating rooms and other units.
Ashtrom International supplied and assembled all the necessary medical equipment for the hospital and even made sure to train the local teams to operate and maintain the equipment.
The construction at a glance
The building shell was built using a tower crane. The building blocks were produced on site using a dedicated machine. The concrete was produced using a portable concrete plant.
The electro-mechanical works were executed by selected subcontractors, while the X-ray rooms were built according to strict standards that included inserting lead plates in the walls of the rooms.
Throughout the project, Ashtrom International, through the subsidiary Ashtrom BV, ensured professional design and execution, including ongoing repair of deficiencies from the beginning of the works to the completion of the construction.
