Project Description

The purpose of Road 531 was establishing a quick crossroad – on the border of Ra’anana and Herzliya – connecting the coastal roads to the Trans Israel Road. The road was paved over a 14-km route, completing the connection between Road 6 and north-south roads 4, 2, and 20.

The eastern segment (Ra’anana South) includes a dual carriageway two-lane road between Sokolov Junction and the central segment. This segment was also constructed to connect adjacent towns (Kfar Shmaryahu and other Hof HaSharon towns), to improve accessibility for local residents and to contribute to urban development.

The south-west segment over the Road 20 route included a dual carriageway three-lane road between the main segment and Road 20 North. In addition, the train’s coastal railway track was relocated and doubled, distancing it from adjacent towns and connecting it to the new Sharon railway track.

Multidimensional construction

Ashtrom Contracting adhered to strict safety and professional-construction guidelines throughout the road’s construction. The project included bridges, roads and interchanges, underground vehicle passageways, railway tunnels, double railway tracks, a new train station, acoustic and retaining walls that involved dirt work, water and drainage pipes, paving, bridging, drainage, relocating electricity, sewage and communication infrastructure, relocating and protecting trees, road paving, and more.
